SWORN TRANSLATIONS

More than 20 years of dedication to sworn translations.

Sworn translator for German and Spanish (NOT for English) since January 2003. Appointed by the Spanish Ministry for Foreign Affairs. Ask us for other linguistic combinations.

SWORN TRANSLATIONS WITH ELECTRONIC SIGNATURE

Since April 2020 sworn translators can sign their translations with an electronic signature.

This is based on the Spanish law 39/2015, from October 1st, concerning the general administrative proceedings of the public administration in conjunction with the decree of the Spanish Department for Foreign Affairs AEC/2125/2014

What are the requirements for a digitally signed sworn translation?

A digitally signed sworn translation needs to be signed by the sworn translator and must include the electronic signature issued by the Spanish Real Casa de las Monedas.

CERTIFICATION OF SWORN TRANSLATIONS

In Spain, the certification of a sworn translation is regulated by the Royal Decree 724/2020, from 4th of August:

«Don/Doña ………………………………………………………………..…. (complete name), Traductor Jurado de ………………………….….. (language), en virtud de título otorgado por el Ministerio de Asuntos Exteriores, Unión Europea y Cooperación, certifica que la que antecede es traducción fiel y exacta al (language of destiny) de un documento redactado en …………………………………….………….. (original language).

En ……………………………………..…. (location), a …………………………….……….. (date).»

SWORN TRANSLATIONS FROM SPANISH TO GERMAN

Frequently clients ask me about sworn  translations from Spanish to German.

It is important to know that in Germany the sworn translations are the competency of the länder (federal states). So it is possible that a sworn translation done by a sworn translator in Bavaria is not accepted in Hamburg. I always recommend asking the receiver of the translation if they accept a sworn translation done by a sworn translator named by the Spanish authorities!

However, in over 20 years of doing sworn translations for Germany, Switzerland and Austria, I only had problems with admission once.
